Nighthawk D7000v2

Hi Everyone

The factory reset has not worked for me.  We have just hooked up to NBN and all devices are connecting to the modem but the modem is not connecting to my ISP.  The ISP has walked me through the correct configuration for them but they say there must be something that they are missing.  I did notice that the 192.168.1.1 has an alternative 192.168.0.1 - does this make any difference?  Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted to avoid having to buy another modem from the ISP.

"NBN" conveys remarkably little useful information (other than your
general geography).  Who/what is your (unspecified) "my ISP".  How,
exactly, is the D7000v2 connected to what?  Are you using its DSL modem
capability, or an Ethernet WAN connection, or what?

The non-psychics in your audience might have no idea what that
"correct configuration" might have been, or what you did with those
settings suggestions.

Where did get "192.168.1.1"?  The default LAN IP address of a D7000v2
is "192.168.0.1".

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for the
LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot".  When that doesn't help, return
with more/better information about your environment, what you did, and
what happened when you did it.

Re: Nighthawk D7000v2

Thanks Antinode

My ISP is Skymesh in Australia

The D7000v2 is connected to NBN by DSL cable into the WAN port

I went through the configuration with Skymesh over the phone step by step.  I have now done a hard reset

Skymesh gave me 192.168.1.1 and I have seen the same address on support pages for Netgear.

Thank you I will look at the suggested documentation.

That much I inferred from "NBN".

Which "the WAN port"?  The one labeled "DSL" (not "WAN"), or the one
labeled "LAN 4 / Ehernet WAN" (which would be wrong for actual DSL
service)?

Trust no one, I always say.  "192.168.1.1" is the default for a
(Netgear) (modem-less) router; "192.168.0.1" is the default for a
modem+router like the D7000v2.  (As mentioned in its User Manual.)
