Nighthawk D8500

Hi we have just switched over to NBN, and I can't connect the nighthawk to the box that was supplied for NBN. Can someone please tell me how I can connect to the nighthawk. My service provider is DODO. Appreciate anyone's help. Thanks

With my weak psychic powers, and the great distances involved, I
can't see your "the box".  What is it?

"can't" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

I'd probably use an Ethernet cable.  Did you ask your ISP?  They
might already know more about your equipment than anyone here.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for
"Set Up the Modem Router for Cable Service".  Knowing nothing about it,
I'd guess that connecting your D8500 to your (unspecified) "the box"
might go something like that.

Re: Nighthawk D8500

I contacted my ISP they weren't able to help hence me posting on here. My NBN box is FTTC network connection device. All the lights on my modem are on. On NBN box the dsl light and lan light is not on. I have the vdsl cable going to a filter modem socket and the NBN wall socket going to the phone filter. If I change them around then I have all lights on the NBN box, and I don't have the Dsl Led solid white on the nighthawk. Any suggestions

Wonderful.  Now I know about as much as I did before.  Has it a
maker?  Model number?

"All"?  What is your "my modem"?

I can't see your equipment.  I can't see what you connected to what.

Answer questions?  Provide descriptions which convey useful
information to someone who can't see whet you're doing?

NBN seems to have been designed to provide a new hobby for Australian internet users. Hardly a day goes by without someone turning up here seeking help. This means that there is a good archive of similar messages. For example:

Search - NETGEAR Communities – D8500 DODO NBN

Then there is this:

What is an NBN network and is my NETGEAR DSL modem router compatible? | Answer | NETGEAR Support

While Netgear lists all manner of things as being "compatible" with NBN in that article, in reality this often means that the device will work as a router. You have to bypass the modem bit and use something else as a modem.

A good place to seek local help seems to be this place:
