Nighthawk X4S D7800 usb drive disappearing
Hi.
I recently purchased a Nighthawk x4s and am really pleased with it.
I have attached a Western Digital MyPassport drive to it so that I can do backups and I can see the drive in the router config pages and run ReadyVault on my pc to write to it.
However, once it has performed the backup, after a while it disappears from the Readyshare config page and the router thinks nothing is connected. The usb is still showing a green light, so it has power, but I have to unplug and plug the usb cable again before the router recognises it.
It then works fine until I try to access it the next day and I have the same problem.
If anybody has any advice that would be great.
Richard

Hello rclapp183

Re: Nighthawk X4S D7800 usb drive disappearing
I have exactly the same issue.
The firmware that was relesed few days ago V1.0.2.20 finally allowed me to detect the connected drives. Wooohoo!
I have PNY 128gb usb stick (which is btw approved device) and a USB HDD enclosure (with external power) with 500gb drive in it.
Both are properly detected and i can set up access.
However after few minutes they dissapear and need to reboot router or replug them to be able to see them.
So two steps forward one step back for Netgear.
It was my first Netgear router and unfortunately the last one.
