Porting v3 (NG GENIE) FW on DGND3700v1
I compiled a DGND3800B fw with ADSL annex A driver.
This probably means that I could build images based on 3.0.0.5 for both 3700v1/3800B with any adsl Annex A/B driver: imho they're the same device.
In firmware sources the annex b version is named 3700 also, and the annex option is in a config file.
The original 3800B fw comes with VDSL and IPv6 support. In the image I compiled they're still enabled, but I don't know if they're broken or not - web interface lets me setup a VDSL connnection but it's not available in italy so I can't test it.
I would be grateful if someone who has VDSL, or IPv6, or simply a DGND3700v1 could test any of the following configurations if I'll provide you the corresponding image:

I have VDSL and this router and I would like to try it.
I just don't know where to get the firmware.

To load the 3800B fw a recompilation is needed, unless you flash it by the serial console.
I'll build it for you but you must be warned that I can't test it for you.
I'll provide you the original fw with device target string modified to fit your model (please be sure that you really have a DGND3700v1).
Anyway, flashing the image by web interface will check that for you.

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
I do have a DGND3700V1 for sure and I am not using it any more because I upgraded to VDSL from ADSL. If I can make it work with VDSL, I 'll be happy.
I really tried to flash the DGND3800 firmware , but because of the string it could not flash.

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
I suggest you to test the image with the ADSL annexB driver. If VDSL is annex-independent, maybe the german B version has VDSL implemented.

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
Firmwares 1.0.0.12 and 1.0.0.17 does not show the VDSL option.
The original firmware had one according to the other people, I never had the chance to see it because my router arrived with 1.0.0.12.
Richud's firmware has it (Auto,ADSL,VDSL) but it doesn't work with VDSL service.
This my VVG2000 settings:
Transfer Mode ATM PTM
ATM/PTM Auto Detected
Select the modulation:
G.Dmt Enabled
G.lite Enabled
T1.413 Enabled
ADSL2 Enabled
AnnexL Enabled
ADSL2+ Enabled
AnnexM Enabled
VDSL2 Enabled
Multiplexing Method LLC-BASED VC-BASED
VPI 8
VCI 48
Use VLANID

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
3700v1 (fw 3.0.0.5, annex B driver from 3800B 3.0.0.5)
No changes to original netgear sources (except the model number string to fit 3700v1). I started with the Annex B image because it has official (german) support for this kind of lines. Annex B will prevent connection to standard ADSL, unless you're in germany.
I must repeat that I have NOT tested it because I can't, but the modded version for my model runs fine.
To keep the file secured from standard users I protected it with a password, if you really want to try it and you have experience in fw recovery, then send me a pm and I'll give you the password.

Exactly. I strongly advise you to not try this if you aren't experienced in this kind of operations.

Really you should order USB-TTL device. (there are 2 barriers for takers: 1) password in winrar file 2) you need to buy USB-TTL/rs232-ttl device 😞

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
Will be interesting to see the differences between your nvram and 3800B.
Could you dump all mtds into an usb stick, and send me packed.
In your video webui wors fine (ie as responsive as original 3800B). Maybe errors in nvram settings cause httpd to take longer making web page.
I'll try to unlock firmware flashing between different models --- I wish httpd does not check itself for integrity.

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
Here is my experience with the firmware.
The phone line is synchronized and VDSL service is recognized at the router. I have 100MB DL and 5UL, but the VDSL is available only if I choose Telekom as the ISP, otherwise I only have ADSL and Telekom is a static IP service (?) with no user login and password. so :
1. if choose telekom I cannot login, because I need to enter user + password
2. if I choose other , there no VDSL service, the line cannot synchronize, but I can enter user+ password.
Besides I have to do it by wizard, some of the router web pages are not available (basic settings and some others).
I think a new compilation needed to remove ISP limitations to VDSL

A factory reset may solve the problem.
@darsa : have you done a reset after flashing? Does MAC addresses appear as in mistrzmalarstwa screenshots?

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
Here are some update and good news (I think so).
My comments at my previous post are before a hard reset. After the hard reset I had the full web interface of the 3800B.
1. I had to change the parameters to my ISP's parameters, I chose other ISP, chose 8/48, PTM, LLC and disabled IPV6 .
2. After the phone line synchronization, I entered user+ password, enabled IPV
3. The router stacked up while rebooting several times, but not it is OK for the few hours and reboots without problem.
4. I would like to insert some screen shots, I just copied and paste the status screen
5. Excellent work, thank you , now I finally I have this router working with VDSL 100U/5D.

The next step is to understand if VDSL is implemented in annex a driver also.
I'll provide a new image in the next few hours.

Re: Porting 3.0.0.5_3.0.5 fw to DGND3700v1
Here are the answers:
1. I flashed through webui, I do not have any other option.
2. I do not know if IPv6 works, because my ISP does not support it. I can tell you that my NIC properties says that I am connected through IPv4. At the beginning I set up IPv6 an auto and it was detected as 6to4 tunnel. This setup did not work. Then I disabled it , it worked. Then I set it up as PPPOE , I have internet but no IPv6. I think it is because of my ISP.
One important issue, I cannot save my setup, I mean I cannot backup my device settings, besides everything works good.
If you want to see a screenshot ,just give me an email.

Jack
