Power Adaptor replacement

Good day,

The power adapter of my nighthawk AC1900 D7000 stopped working, and I wonder from where I can get a genuine replacement.
I couldn’t the same and exact replacement online.

Please advise.
Thanks and Regards,

Re: Power Adaptor replacement

Netgear does not sell replacement power adapters. But you can get an inexpensive generic device that will work.

Just go for the right volts, amps and (+/-) polarity on the tip.

The manual says 12V @ 3.5A output.

Many of these transformers come with a choice of tips.

If you try googling 332-10758-01 you will see some out there.  Though you might need to use a more generic replacement that has the same power specs.

Re: Power Adaptor replacement

Thanks for the reply.
The thing is that the defected genuine adapter of my Netgear nighthawk AC1900 D7000 has 12v / 2.5A; and not 3.5 A.
I am just afraid of getting a more powerful adapter of 3.5 A that might break my unit down.
What do you think please?

Thanks again 🙂

I was surprised by the 3.5 A. It should need less than that.

That's not how electricity works. You have to get the volts right. Too many and "bang". Not enough and phht, the thing won't work.

Amps are different, not enough and it will struggle, too many and it ignores the excess.

2.5A should be fine, especially if you have a "dumb" adapter that cannot match its output to the load. A smart device will see the reduced load and draw less current from the mains.

It may be a genuine Netgear adapter, but it does not sound like the
right one for a D7000.  Around here (USA), under "NETGEAR", mine says:

I.T.E. POWER SUPPLY
P/N: 332-10762-01               [Also on a bar-code label on the side]
MODEL No.: MU42-3120350-A1
INPUT: 100-240V [AC] 50/60Hz 1.5A
OUTPUT: 12V [DC] 3.5A (-)--< --(+)

No.  Trying to use a 2.5A adapter on a 3.5A device might shorten the
life of the 2.5A adapter, however.

I'd look for a 12VDC, 3.5A adapter.  That's what it says on your

D7000 product label, isn't it?  That's what it says on mine.

Presumably, he meant "3.5A".  After that, it gets more whimsical.
