R7000 — Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Dual Band Gigabit Router
The smart genie app Has stopped recognising connected devices on network map page, I can no longer control connected devices. Have removed the app and reinstalled, it doesn't work. According to NETGEAR support pages they no longer provide support for the genie app and suggest getting the new nighthawk app. Which I did, but it states that it is not compatible with my nighthawk router. So neither the old app or the new one work with the router I have, it's only 2 years old. Using iOS devices and most recent version April this year.

The Nighthawk app does support the R7000. Do you have any other router in your home that your phone may be trying to connect to?

I had no problems using the Nighthawk app with my R7000.

Can you clarify what you mean by this? Where does it state this?

Firmware version? Connected to what?

Your picture says "D7000", not "R7000".

Ok. That's a D7000[v1]. And is it on the list of devices which the
Nighthawk app supports?
https://kb.netgear.com/000055505
I see no Dxxxx models there, which would seem to agree with the "does
not support your router model" message.

Which? There are many "NETGEAR support pages".
Personally, I'd avoid the Netgear apps, and stick with the
web-browser interface, but my needs may be simpler than yours.

Re: R7000 — Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Dual Band Gigabit Router
The Genie app was working fine, it simply stopped working for no reason and is now useless. It doesn’t identify the connected devices. When I need to control the kids devices, I can’t.

Complete nonsense my friend: The Nightahwk App is not applicable to the D7000(v1) router. It's either a D7000(v1) firmware problem ref. Attached Devices, a problem with the API used by the Apps in attempting to get access to this attached devices information, or a newly invented bug in the Genie App.
Push this to engineering to get this **** fixed before all these routers and the Genie App are EoL.
PS. Move this thread to the DSL MODEMS & ROUTERS community section please, and adjust the original subject - the OP does talk of a D7000(v1) here.
