I have the new ‘router’ R7000 and haven’t got an actual modem yet. I was trying to use my old ‘modem router’ as modem but I failed

   That's too bad.  What, exactly, does "actual modem" mean to you?

"my old `modem router'", what you did with it, or what happened when you
did it.  Did you have a question?

If it doesn't work, come back with an explanation of what you are doing and where it goes wrong. And tell us about the modem, its make and model number.
