Red Light on router when i plug in my actiontec ecb 2500c MoCA network adapter that suddenlink inst
Ok...My Nighthawk X10 R9000 AD 7200 smart wifi router was not listed..Problem; suddenlink installed a "Actiontec ECB2500C MoCA network Adapter"along with there router which I got rid of last week and bought the Nighthawk R9000. When I plugged in the lan cable from my R9000 router to the network adapter the light turned red. Changed the lan cable from CAT5 to CAT6 thinking that was the problem, the router port light is still red..Don't know what's wrong..Would appreciate any help...Thanks..jerseyboy

"red" or "amber"?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Look for "Table 1.
LED descriptions" to learn what an amber port-status LED indicator
indicates.

Probably because you have posted in the DSL Modems & Routers section.
The R9000 is a Nighthawk router. You might get better replies, and find other answers, over in the appropriate section:
Nighthawk WiFi Routers - NETGEAR Communities
There is a manual for the R9000 somewhere at the end of this link:
>>>> Nighthawk X10 R9000 | AD7200 Smart WiFi Router| NETGEAR Support <<<<
Check the table LED descriptions.

You appear to have one of these:
MoCA Network Adapter ECB2500C - Actiontec.com
I have no idea what it is supposed to do or where you have plugged it into the router.
I assume that you have some sort of modem or cable device connecting the router to the internet.

Undocumented behavior is less unusual than one might like, but I
don't remember seeing this.
What's connected at the co-ax ports of the ECB2500C?

Follow the link which you (and I) posted? It's not complicated.
(It's an Ethernet-to-Co-ax modem.)

From "lan cable" and "router port light", I assumed that this meant a
LAN Ethernet port on the R9000, and the corresponding port-status LED,
but I'll admit that precisely identifying what's connected to what would
be more helpful.
