Router losing attached devices
My router (DG834Gv5) is losing devices when they reboot. I started with a clean router. Then switched on another PC. I could ping the new one from my own machine. THen rebooted the new machine. Ping disappeared. And it's not in the device list.
Pinging 192.168.0.5 with 32 bytes of data
Reply from 192.168.0.3: Destination host unreachable.

Oddly, I can ping the machine from the router.
PING 192.168.0.5 (192.168.0.5): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.0.5: icmp_seq=0 ttl=128 time=47.6 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.5: icmp_seq=1 ttl=128 time=74.7 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.5: icmp_seq=2 ttl=128 time=100.3 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.5: icmp_seq=3 ttl=128 time=20.8 ms
Looks as if the router's forgetting its DHCP table - which of course isn't visible from the web management interface.
Anyone here got any ideas how to get rid of this amnesia? It's a 100% pain.

Re: Router losing attached devices
Hello ptoye
Have you tried to set up address reservation located under LAN settings this may be a fix to what is happening to you.

Re: Router losing attached devices
No, I haven't, Nor have I used pre-assigned IP addresses for the devices - it just shouldn't be necessary.
As I'm moving to a new telecoms (VDSL) service in the next few weeks, I'll have to get a new router. So I've decided to ignore it for the moment as we can live without it and hope that the next router works better!
