Router sending IP address to SolarEdge SE5000H Inverter 4 or 5 times an hour
D6220 Modem/Router
Firmware Version: V1.0.0.74_1.0.74
I have recently added a SolarEdge SE5000H Inverter, managing a solar PV installation, to my home network. It's all working OK, uploading performance data to the manufacturer which I can then access through their web site.
However, my Netgear D6220 logs show [DHCP IP: (10.175.0.3)] to MAC address 28:B7:7C:14:86:18 four or five times an hour, almost continuously. 28:B7:7C:14:86:18 is the MAC address of the SolarEdge Inverter.
This doesn't happen with other devices which are permanently connected to my home network.
My suspicion is that my home network wifi is weak at the SolarEdge Inverter and the connection keeps failing and then reconnecting - the SolarEdge Inverter stores performance data internally and can upload when a connection is available.
Do others agree that this is the problem or might in be something else?
If it is a weak wifi signal, I guess the solution is a wifi extender?
