Should I return my Nighthawk D7000v2? Keeps losing internet connection

OK -  so a week ago I bought a nice shiny new D0007v2 modem/router (running firware version V1.0.0.56_1.0.1).

Previously I have been using an N300 Netear modem/router for years without any problems at all.

More to the point I have made no changes to either the ISP or my network infrastructure:  I have just swapped the modem/router.

The configuration therefore for the internet connection, the WiFi and wired devices is also unchange from before.

But now this new D7000v2 keeps losing its internet connection about once a day.

It seems to keep its LAN connection to wired devices but loses everything else.

Also the lights on the modem have not indicated that there has been a connection loss.

This time the basic and advanced status information was inconsistent:  see attached JPG.

Basic info shows connection lost - advanced info shows it is still connected.

NOTE  - Only connected for 11 hours or so because that's the time since the last failure !!

So QUESTION - should I return my Nighthawk as defective?   Or is there some other explanation for the problem?

Some setting that may need to be different from the N300 which I haven't thought of?
