Trouble connecting to Sky Fibre with Nighthawk ac1900 d7000v2
I just got a Nighthawk ac1900 d7000v2 to upgrade my isp provided router.
However when I plug the router into the dsl line, i'm not getting a connection.
Now i'm with Sky(UK) and I know they are a little fiddly when it comes to third party routers so I've trawled the internet looking for an answer but can't find one. I've followed the guides about getting the client identifier string (option 61) so I have that. But since it's not picking up an internet connection I can't run the Netgear Genie to install everything.
Could I have a hardware fault? and if so how do I find that out?
Any help would be great because from reading online set up should be a simple process but i've spend a whole day trying to troubleshoot.

The D7000v2 is a modem/router.
What is the isp provided router? Sky has supplied many over the years.
What is this Sky Fibre service? Sky uses different Internet technologies and "fibre" is a meaningless marketing term because all Internet is fibre somewhere in the line. Even dial up.

Forget about the Netgear genie. See if you can get there with a manual installation, preferably using the browser graphical user interface (GUI).
Try this while you are at it:
Search - NETGEAR Communities – D7000 Sky
You aren't the first victim.
