Use VPN without modem on NETGEAR D6200

Please help!!!

I have successfully been using a VPN data transfer tunnel between my two D6200 routers, but now i have upgraded to Fibre-Optic Broadband and have to use the ISP's new routers to gain Internet.

As the D6200 routers i have aren't 'Fibre-Optic' compatible and i don't have enough money to buy two new ones:

** Q: **

Can i program the D6200 routers to work on the Internet connection i have, so they can still hold up a VPN Tunnel and talk to each other?

I don't know what that means.  How, exactly, are these devices
connected?

Says who?  What are "the ISP's new routers"?

How did you decide that?  Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in
your model number, and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.
Read.  Look for "fiber".

Re: Use VPN without modem on NETGEAR D6200

The D6200 is a modem/router. It will work with a fibre modem. You have two options:

  • put your new modem, or whatever it is, into bridge mode and use the D6200 as your router
  • convert your D6200s to wireless access points.

There is a manual for the D6200 somewhere at the end of this link:

>>> D6200 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<

To use a D6200 as a router, plug the internet from the modem into the WAN port (see page 13). To turn is into an AP, see page 102.

If you have two D6200 (how come?), at least one of them needs to be in AP mode?

That's another issue
