autorestart on my Netgear DGND 3700V2

Hi there,

I'm new in this community.

First of all, sorry for my bad english.

Is possible that my Netgear DGND 3700 v2 have a setting for a restart at 17:40 of every day?

How I can turn off this setting?

Awaiting your suggest,

Have a nice day,

Claudio.

Re: autorestart on my Netgear DGND 3700V2

Hello Claudio

There isnt a feature that makes the router reboot at a certain time everyday. Are you only seeing reboots at that exact time or have you seen it happen at other times during the day? Hope to hear your feedback

Re: autorestart on my Netgear DGND 3700V2

Hi DarrenM,
thanks for your prompt reply.
Unfortunately I can not see the modem/router at the exact moment that happens.
The ADSL connection disappears and takes up exactly 2 minutes after.
2 minutes! The same time that the modem/router uses when I turn it on.
Tomorrow I will call my provider and ask him to explain me.
News follows.

Yea let me know what your provider has to say it could be drop outs on there side but if not we should troubleshoot deeper.

Re: autorestart on my Netgear DGND 3700V2

Dear DarrenM,

today I have spoke witk my provider (Telecom Italia) and was told that I lose my public IP number.

The ADSL line remains on but the IP is lost.
The DGND 3700V2 renegotiates a new IP number and browsing resumes.
Of course, Telecom Italia says it's the fault of the modem settings.

Ciao,

Re: autorestart on my Netgear DGND 3700V2

Hello Claudio

If they are saying the IP address is changing daily then that would be there DHCP server assigning the modem a new IP address which would make since of why it is resetting the same time every day. But the modem wouldn't on its own decide to change IPs unless the server on there side tells it to. You may ask if they could give you a static IP address but that is mostly used for people that want to use VPNs or run servers so might not be the best solution. Hope to hear your feedback

Re: autorestart on my Netgear DGND 3700V2

Dear, DarrenM
the problem is on the side of the provider.

As soon as possible I will pass to the fiber.

From my side the problem is concluded.

Thanks for your assistance,

Ciao,
