can't enable VPN service on Nighthawk X4S D7800

I simply can't.

I check the box, hit APPLY button and then the page refresh with the box not checked again.

Any hint or things I should do before enabling VPN service?

My internet connection is on DSL.

You have been through everything in the manual?

I have seen similar discussions here where the VPN experts want to know more about the service you are trying to use. So it might help if you provided a few more details.

I have latest firmware installed.

I am considering resetting the router.

You may want to try another web browser or make sure a pop up blocker or firewall software is not causing issues.

same problem here: fixed ip enabled but the apply button doesn't work.

Same problem here.  

I'm on firmware version V1.0.1.16, have static IP enabled and working.

I've tried various different browsers, including Chrome, Edge, IE11 and IE8, from 2 different OSes.

I've rebooted the router several times. 

I've removed a port forward to an alternative (but poorly performing) PPTP VPN. 

I've tried changing other settings on the page when enabling the VPN and get a prompt about needing to re-download the client settings, but then it just reloads the page and none of the settings are changed.  

I'm going to try to find an older version of the firmware to see if that makes a difference.  Any ideas in the meantime?

Has anyone been able to get the VPN to work on Static IP address, As i have the same problem, I too have the latest Firmware Version 1.0.1.20

I have even downgraded the firmware but have the same problem no matter what version of firmware.

Any help would be great.

Darren, I don't know if you've read the thread through, but to put it simply you can follow these instructions to the letter but when you get to step 5 and click Apply, you might as well start again because it simply won't enable. 

I upgraded to 1.0.1.22 and it still doesn't work.

Just thought I'd add to this by noting that firmware v1.0.1.28 doesn't resolve the issue but it does change it.  I now get Error 400 (Bad Request - This server does not support the operation requested by your client.).

I don't know what issues other people are having, mine was that I had not yet set up DDNS or a static IP address. The "error" message in the popup read as a suggestion rather than a "must do this first".

Thanks for the suggestion.  Certainly my issue is that it won't enable regardless of the state of DDNS or the static IP - I've literally tried all combinations.  

Can anyone point me to any reliable instructions to kind of start again with the firmware on this thing, i.e. a clean install - now I'm getting 404s on the last two updates I fear something may actually be fubarred if I don't get it back to a good state.

Just updated to firmware V1.0.1.34 and the VPN feature is still not working!

• Place a tick in the 'Enable VPN Service' box and click 'Apply'.
• Get a popup dialogue suggesting the use of a Dynamic DNS service or Static IP address.
• Click OK to close the dialogue.
• Click the 'For Windows' configuration package download.
• Get a popup dialogue saying 'Please enable the VPN Service and click "Apply" button first' but this has already been done.
• Impossible to enable the VPN service.

Please fix this.
