network speed

Appreciate your support with my problem.

I have an issue with the network speed - very slow and not receiving the full bandwidth. For one week, i tried to solve it with the service provider but they claim that the issue is from the router. i should receive around 16 Mbps but actuallly receiving around 7 Mbps.

i am using NetGear D7000 - service is ADSL.

the service provider checked the landline and it can support till 18 Mbps.

how can i solve this problem? do i need to change the router setting?

First check that you have the latest firmware for your D7000. Find it, along with the manual for your device, somewhere at the end of this link:

Also check that you have all the right settings for your, unknown to us, ISP. Only they know those. If the ISP has a user forum, you could tap into the collective wisdom there. Other users probably have more experience with this hardware than the official support people.
