Re: nighthawk AC1900 D700 VPN setup
Dear DarrenM ,
as you can see in the photo i sent there is no support for smartphone in my D7000 router.
I was hoping that i could use R7000 OpenVPN configuration package for smartphone.
Can i download OpenVPN configuration package for smartphone from the internet and use them with my router?
Thank you in advance

Re: nighthawk AC1900 D700 VPN setup
i was trying to connect with my adroid device but openVPN app for adroid doesnt support TAP-based tunnels.
I guess the only solution is to wait for netgear to add vpn client support for android devices for AC1900 D7000 router.
I hope they will add it to next firmware update.
Best regards

Re: nighthawk AC1900 D700 VPN setup
Hello ,good news is that the new firmware supports android vpn 😄
I can connect to my router with openvpn but i cant access any device in my lan.
i think the problem is in the line below because the subnet mask of my router is /32 and not /24 ( 192.168.1.1 is my router ip)
Error parsing IPv4 route: [route] [192.168.1.1] [255.255.255.0] : tun_prop_error: route is not canonical
If i`m right how can i fix this.
Best regards

Re: nighthawk AC1900 D700 VPN setup
Can't see you attachment, as it has to be approved. Where you see 192.168.1.1 try the change to 1.0 - it looks like it's attributed to the route statement..

Re: nighthawk AC1900 D700 VPN setup
i don't know if you can see the attachment now but the only option i have in the router is to chose the port for tun channel.
If im not wrong all the setting are generated from the router automatically
Thank you in advance

Re: nighthawk AC1900 D700 VPN setup
Got a little further regarding the 'route is not canonical' error...
If I manually edit the .opvn file and add the following (bold) lines:
client
route-nopull
route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
redirect-gateway def1 bypass-dhcp
dev tun
...
the client will then ignore the incorrect route pulled from the server.
Log file states:
Sending PUSH_REQUEST to server...
Ignored due to route-nopull: [redirect-gateway] [def1] [bypass-dhcp]
Ignored due to route-nopull: [route] [192.168.1.1] [255.255.255.0]
OPTIONS:
0 [route] [192.168.1.0] [255.255.255.0]
1 [redirect-gateway] [def1] [bypass-dhcp]
2 [route-gateway] [192.168.2.1]
...
The error regarding the canonical route no longer appears... Yay
Unfortunately, I still cannot access internet or lan devices. It appears my outbound traffic is flowing through the VPN but I am not receiving any data back (bytes out keeps climbing but bytes in never moves).
I'm wonding if this has something to do with the routers NAT or perhaps that I'm using UDP?
Could someone else see whether they can confirm my findings?
Cheers
Komp

Re: nighthawk AC1900 D700 VPN setup
I'm having the exact same issue. I bought this router mainly for VPN access and i can't get to anywhere when connecting on a smartphone on the internal network.
Has anyone managed to get this working?
If not I will be returning it.
thanks
