set up as wifi access point

I only have AT&T DSL available.  I currently have an ATT 7550 modem+router.  I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 router to boost the internet in my home.  I planned on purchasing a Netgear modem only to be used with the Nighthawk AC1900 but i cannot find one.  Can i make the 7550 act as a bridge or access point only reliably without issues?  How can i do this?

"AC1900" is a speed, not a model number.  Look for "Model" on the
product label.

What, exactly, does "boost the internet" mean to you?  Are you trying
to improve your wireless-network coverage/performance, or what?

Information on the 7550 tends to be sparse around here:

      https://kb.netgear.com/24475

      https://www.att.com/support/article/dsl-high-speed/KM1052199/

It should also be possible to configure the "AC1900" (whatever it is)

as a wireless access point.  Visit http://netgear.com/support , put
in your (actual) model number, and look for Documentation.  Get the User
Manual.  Read.  Look for a topic like "AP Mode", or "Use the Router as a
Wireless Access Point", or even just "access point".

As for "reliably without issues", I wouldn't guarantee that with
anything Netgear ever sold.

That's a question for the people who made it.

Google found this:

How do I put the netgear 7550 router in bridge mode? | AT&T Community Forums

There's more like that out there:

at&t 7550 bridge mode - Google Search

The ideal DSL modem from Netgear is the DM200.

The bad news is that Netgear, and most other brands, seem to have abandoned the market for DSL modem-only devices. Maybe ISPs are leaning on them in the way that they have for cable modems.

If you can lay your hands on something like the DM200, that would be a good choice. But the prices are getting silly. You may be able to find a second-hand one. I bought one from one of those "open box" merchants. It looked new, with all the usual packing and protection.

Netgear does sell modem/routers that you can run in modem-only mode, the D6400 for example, but, as I found, that can cause problems.

First try your idea with "bridge mode" on your modem router.
