1.0.0.82 --> No Internet. At All.

1.0.0.82 --> No Internet. At All.

Hey everyone,

I upgraded to .82 from .66 (which was working well). Immediately after upgrading and doing a 30-30-30 i can connect to the router, pull an IP from the DHCP but I cannot get online. I've tried this process 6+ times and still the same result. I have since reverted to .66 which is working just as well as before.

Anyone having similar issues or have any advice?

reset the router anytime you flash firmware.

I did that, multiple times........including resetting the comcast modem

did you remove the battery if you have arris cable modem (phone / internet)

I know there have been complaints from users about .66, but I recall at least one user saying .66 was working well with his/her router.

What's the lesson to be learned? Upgrading FW just for upgrading sake is foolhardy. If you were having absolutely no problems before, then you are just asking for trouble.

Works was "IF"! Look side of arris modem IF you are using arris modem with phone service. Most have battery with phone/Internet gateway device

I do have an Arris modem from Comcast (Business gateway). I found a teardown manual online for it and will give it a try when everyone gets offline for the night and will be back with a status.

Another thing i noticed after i upgraded was that i could no longer use my old backed up settings from the previous firmwares i Had to set up everything fresh after the upgrade. You could try doing a factory restore and try setting everything up from scratch.

Well that did it. A factory restore accompanied by pulling the battery on my Arris modem fixed it. Putting all the setings back in was a pain in the 4$$ but at least it's working with the .82 firmware.

Only thing that I noticed is now whenever I make any changes to my wireless settings (channel, security, SSID) i wont be able to get internet unless i soft restart both my modem and router.

Anyway, thanks for all the help guys!
