Re: \\192.168.0.5 not working?

What is the problem?

What is supposed to be on 192.168.0.5?

By the way, it may not matter, but you have posted your message in the section of this community given over to General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk). (This is easily done, given Netgear's impenetrable community structure.) The CG3100D listed in your footer is a Cable Voice Gateway.

You might get better replies, and find other answers, over in the appropriate section:

Re: \\192.168.0.5 not working?

What your Windows 10 system does discover and show as Media Devices - Gateway Media Services is indeed the UPnP/DLNA service.

Head to the "Windows-Features" and enable the SMB 1.0/CIFS Client, and reboot. Now retry ...the router should come up under the name configured under ReadyShare btw. as a PC/Server with a blue icon in the Network view of Windows Explorer.

\\192.168.0.5 is used to access the USB flash drive https://kb.netgear.com/24693/How-to-access-your-USB-device-on-the-N450-CG3000Dv2

And I'll try to post this on the cable modem section

Re: \\192.168.0.5 not working?

Whats confusing ... the media player of the router is on .200 (like http://192.168.0.200:1900/) - and in the subject you try to reach .5 (like \\192.168.0.5). The ReadyShare (SMB) USB storage service would be on the very same LAN IP, so \\192.168.0.200 for example.

A router is operated on a fixed LAN IP address, typically it's the low .1 (192.168.0.1) - so how comes you find the router LAN IP on various addresses?
