2x WNDR3700v3 1 IP range? 192.168.x.x

Is it possible to setup 2x WNDR3700v3 routers on the same network? One setup as a router which will handle issuing IP's + 1 wireless extender. The 2nd setup as a switch allowing the main router to hand out the IP? This also has a separate wireless extender connected to it.

WNDR3700 (w/ 5ghz link to wireless extender) -> 24 port 10/100 switch -> 2nd WNDR3700 in another area w/ 5ghz link to a different wireless extender) currently we're running an 192.168.x.x network and a 10.x.x.x network. Any time I tried setting the second one up and turning off DHCP it wouldn't pass DHCP from the main router. Is it possible to get this to work with one IP range?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

I would not use the AP mode AND wan port, I have found that the WAN port still applies some ALG filters!.. Only use the WAN port if your stuck for one, make everything else push through the LAN ports.

I saw on the first link "DHCP configuration may not work reliably because the wireless router/access point may not correctly relay DHCP information from the router. Workaround: Use static IPs on the wireless PCs."

Do you know if that's true in AP mode as well? I definitely remember trying to do the first option and did experience that. I don't think I tried the AP mode option though. I can give this a try soon though.

Thanks!

This setup always works and any wireless router to be just simple AP .
