Hello everyone,
I attempted a firmware update on my router (AC1750 - R6400 V2) but it failed. In an effort to fix the problem I downloaded a new firmware image from here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/R6400v2#download . I also downloaded the TFTP client and installed it as well.
I followed the instructions to implement the firmware update as found here: https://kb.netgear.com/000059633/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP-client .
I received a message after the upload that 92000 blocks were transferred and 0 blocks were retransmitted. All seemed to go well except that after the upload was completed, the blinking power LED never went solid and the wireless LEDs never lit up. I waited at lease a good 30 minutes for the new firmware to be stored.
It doesn't look like I missed anything too obvious (I attempted the upload twice) from the directions I followed but I wanted to get everyone else's opinion. Is there something more I can try or is this router shot?
Thank you,
Brian

Sometimes it takes a few attempts. I usually use the windows built in client successfully.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash
