Can't stream large video files over DLNA?

I cannot stream large video files from the hard drive attached to my router - I have several movie files (MP4 format) around 4 GB in size. These files play just fine when the hard drive is USB-connected to my computer, but when the hard drive is connected to my router, I get messages saying "unable to play this file". Smaller movie files (less than 2 GB) play over DLNA with no issues.

I have verified this problem exists on two different media players with two different hard drives and several different movie files (again, all of which play just fine when connected to a computer via USB). It seems that the common issue here is the router (specifically, the DLNA feature not being able to handle large video files).

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Hi @slavrenz,

Welcome to the community!

What's the model number and version of the device you're using? Do you have the latest firmware installed on the unit? Can you send us a sample file and will try to replicate it in our end.

Looking forward to your response.
