I have a Netgear CM500 that I cannot remember the network name or password to. I cannot currently connect it to my laptop as I do not know what the network name is & I have tried everything even setting it up as my device on netgear.com but have had no luck trying to reset info & connect to computer & pressing the reset button on the actual modem.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

A CM500 is a modem, and not a router, so it has no "network name" (or
any wireless-network capability).

"connect" how? Are you talking about a wireless connection?
"cannot" is not a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.
Is this a new installation, or a problem with an existing
installation, or what? Is there some kind of router involved?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read.
> [...] I have tried everything [...]
Think, for a moment, about how little useful information that
non-description conveys to the non-psychics in your audience.
