Connected PC works fine for all PC functions. Ipad worked fine on Sat Mar 5, 2016. Do I need to replace my 1 year old wireless router?

Solution found on Netgear correction for WNR2500 routers. Downloaded a 'fix' and update firmware. See this link: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27187
A little difficult for a novice but I stumbled thru the directions. Windows 10 is a bit different for setting LAN connection for delivering the fix to the router. The 'fix' loads a different SSID and password that needs to be changed for current Wifi devices to connect. All is well on my Ipad now.

Can you still see the SSID broadcasting?
What is the fw version?
