Changing volume name of ReadyShare USB drives
I know this can be done, because I've done it before. I just don't remember how.
By default, Windows Explorer will list any USB drive connected to the router as "USB_Storage (\\readyshare) ([user-assigned drive letter]:)
At some point, I managed to change the volume to "Wireless Network Drive (Y:)."
I know that the drive letter can be changed while running ReadyShareConnect.
Any other drive I connect and assign the drive letter Y: to will also be called "Wireless Network Drive (Y:)."
How do you change the volume name of the drive?
What if I want to change it to "Network Drive" or "Barrel Full of Monkeys?"
Please advise!

I didn't put the smileys in there on purpose. Sorry.

Re: Changing volume name of ReadyShare USB drives
And I realize "volume name" isn't accurate. That cannot be changed without formatting the drive. I am referring to the name displayed in Windows Explorer, below the local hard drives listed under "Computer," but not under "Network."
I know it can be changed because I did it some years ago. And I probably asked how right here.

Re: Changing volume name of ReadyShare USB drives
I think Netgear might call this the "Share name."
And these posts wouldn't be necessary if I could edit!

Re: Changing volume name of ReadyShare USB drives
You are right. "Share name" is the feature that can be changed when you edit the Network Folders.
