Conect to "Smart" TV

I can't get my Vizio Smart TV to conect to the N900 router.   It (TV) sees the router Netgear43 but doesn't respond to the password.  What do I do?  Thanks

Which model # tv?

What firmware is on the router?

Are any other devices having issues?

How far from the tv is the router?

What error are you getting from the tv?

The WNDR4500v2 is now pretty ancient. (First unleashed in 2013.) So there will probably be several firmware updates since then.

If you visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

you can feed in the model number and find all the documentation for your hardware.

Feed in the model number from the label on the device.

If you are using wifi to connect the TV to a router, that is a hell of stretch, especially for a device with ancient wifi technology.

If the TV has a wired Ethernet connection, look into Powerline Ethernet. Easier to set up and less prone to interference.

In either case, it is down to the TV to play ball. The router just provides Internet. The TV has to negotiate the connection to the wifi.

You never did answer the question from @plemans

"What error are you getting from the tv?"

It is important.

Are you trying to connect via 2.4ghz or 5ghz?

Some tv's have issues with special characters in the passwords. If your password has these, i'd recommend changing it.

What modem are you using?
