Configuring IPv6. Two issues
Hi,
I have been looking at the IPv6 options on my Orbi router (with one satellite) and set it up so it works well on my Xfinity connection with a CM1000 modem. I would like to understand this better so there's two issues I can't find good answers to:
1. What is RIPng and should it be enabled? If so, what does it do?
2. I set IPv6 to "Auto Config" and it works. However, it says that Router's IPv6 Address On WAN isn't available. Does that matter in any regard? I have also tried to set config to "DHCP" and it still works and I am getting the an IPv6 Address On WAN. Does it matter which configuration method I use if it works doing an IPv6 test afterwards? There's also a "Use DHCP Server" option available. Should that be off or on?
I haven't been able to find explanations for these I am able to understand, but if it's explained somewhere any pointers will be great also.
