Connection to Western Digital Myworld storage

I had a 3com router which recently failed and I have replaced it with a netgear DG834G v4 router. I have a Mac and it took a lot of effort for the router to allow me to browse the internet and I still do not know what I did to eventually get it to work. Anyway I was using a Western Digital 1T Myworld back up drive with Time machine. With the netgear I can not get time machine to recognise the WD. can anyone tell me what i need to do to get time machine working again

DG has wireless isolation tab in the router interface.

if Mac is on wireless, check the setting per said and see

Thank you for the reply. Every time I change a setting in the router the internet drops out So I am a bit wary of going through the VPN setting what am i looking to do

what do i do with the islolation tab as nothing seems to happen may be it is something to do with my mac not the router??
