D6220 need voip setup

D6220 need voip setup

We installed the netgear D6220 modem router but now we need advice on how to set up connection with voip phone.

 

Its our only phone in the house so we need to fix the modem router for us to use our home phone.

 

What steps do we need to take please?

we have a vtech model 15250 phone which worked as a voip phone with an earlier modem but is not now connected to the netgear router

   Swell.  And you did what with it?  Are you following some set of
instructions?  Praying?  Decapitating chickens?

   I know nothing about that, too.

   "not" what?  Not working?  Not connected?

 

   None of that is a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

our previous phone connected to our Westnet supplied router modem and we used it for voip calls.

 

When we replaced the modem (because the 'old' one stopped working) with a new flash NetGear modem (model details previously given) we could not make voip calls, despite connecting it to the modem as per the instructions provided by the instruction manual.  Unfortunately the instructions did not indicate how to sync it (the phone) with the new modem.

 

We contacted our nbn supplier who indicated that we needed to contact NetGear for advice as to how we could sync the phone with the new NetGear modem.  I've sent several 'please help me' emails to NetGear but they have not provided any advice that would resolve the issue.

 

Our home phone, make and model previously advised on this forum, is the only one we have so we are desperate to get it working.

 

The forum is our last hope...please help if you can.
