DGN1000 and Second Life

I have been supplied with a DGN1000 from Orange but when I try to connect to Second Life on the internet, I am being signed out aprox every 2 minutes.
Does anybody know of a solution to this? thanks

Re: DGN1000 and Second Life

I have exactly the same problem with Cube (Sauerbraten).

I have tried adding its UDP ports both in and outbound to the firewall rules but it makes no difference; just get a network disconnect (normal) message after a minute.

No problem with my previous router.

Cheers

Re: DGN1000 and Second Life

hi! i hope you soled the problem in the meanwhile. I hv a netgear DNG1000 with orange too and had massive problems staying connected for more than2min. then i found this post (in italian)http://www.secondlifeitalia.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27240#p260217 which suggests to use PPPoA/LLC instead of PPPoA/VC. problem solved!!!

Re: DGN1000 and Second Life

Thank you for your tips.
My internet connection does not require a login, so I cannot change the idle timeout. If I try using a login my internet does not work.
My router was already set to PPPoA/LLC. If I try with PPPoA/VC it does not work.
Any more ideas?

Re: DGN1000 and Second Life

Hi folks
I am new to forums, and indeed new to netgear. I bought a netgear N150 and when I log second life it boots me off in a couple of mins. I have been told its to do with firewall and ports. I am a pooter halfwit and need help.

I was given this link but i don't have any clue how to follow it.

any help I would be grateful :-)
