Do you know how to roll back the firmware on an WNDR3700
Hello Gents,
I have had a WNDR3700 router working well for a while now and I upgraded the firmware to version V1.0.7.98 (as presently reported in the router status web page, but I dont know what number it was before unfortunately).
The problem I have is that I was planning to configure another router to act purely as a (child) Access Point for wireless, using the WNDR3700 as the Base Station and I only noticed ahead of doing this (after I had just updated the firmware) that the basic WEP security feature that had previously been available, had been removed in going from the version I had previously to this version. As described in the documentation, the Wireless Repeating Function only allows either WEP security or None and so I have had to configure this now with no security.
Can anyone tell me, as a bit of a novice, how to roll-back step by step to the previous firmware?
Many thanks,
Whoofman.

You need to hard reset the router after flashing firmware.
if you want to go back the firmware then go to support.netgear.com, search the model, download the older firmware and upload again, then hard reset the router

Wireless Repating is inescure.
Change speed from 130/300 to 45 and the WEP option should show up again.

Thanks Gents. I'll give it a try. Presumably, by hard reset you mean holding in the reset button for about 10 seconds and not just a power down reset, right? Sorry but I really am a beginner.
Thanks, Whoofman.
