Does NetGear tech support ever offer remoteu access?
My family member went on a website to look into the Nighthawk router and ended up with tech support offering a remote access, accepted that and then was offered a $100 fix.
Besides the likely scam of the $100, is this a malware thing or does netgear actually offer it?

Re: Does NetGear tech support ever offer remoteu access?
To get a hold of support. Click on "MyNetgear" at the top.
Register an account (or login) and then the device.
From there you can start the support process. Keep in mind that its only free for the first 90 days.
Netgear also uses gearhead for support after the 90 days.
https://www.netgear.com/home/services/gearhead/
if it wasn't one of those methods used, i'd suspect it to be a scam site.
