   What, exactly, does that mean to you?  "respond" how, to what?

   A useful problem description would include an accurate, detailed
description of what you did, and of what happened when you did it.  As
usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results
(error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

   Before trying anything with a serial port, I'd try the TFTP recovery
scheme.

   What did your Web search for terms like, say, "Netgear serial" find?

Re: Firmware upgrade briked

thanks for the reply, i will try to use TFTP

> [...] What, exactly, does that mean to you? "respond" how, to what?[...]

when i tried to upgrade the firmware the router stopped to work.

i can't ping the router throught lan port.

if i turn on the router the red led turns on and stays on and after 1 second the orange led turns on and off.

i have connect a jtag on serial port,  gnd, tx, rx, i turnon the router and on the terminal i obtain that list

   "can't" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

   If the router is dead (all dead or mostly dead), then your computer
won't get a valid IP address (or other IP parameters) from the router's
DHCP server.  If your computer has no valid IP address, then "ping"
might fail.  The actual error message might be helpful.

   The TFTP recovery procedure instructions include configuring the
Ethernet interface on your computer with a static address (typically
"192.168.1.10") for exactly this reason.  If your router is only
_mostly_ dead, then a computer at an address like that should be able to
reach ("ping") the router (at "192.168.1.1").

Re: Firmware upgrade briked

i set the IP address  like this on the PC

IP address => 192.168.1.10

Subnet mask => 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway => 192.168.1.1

i connect the PC with a lan cable to the router Lan port  (not WAN)

if i ping 192.168.1.1 ( the router )  it's unreachable

the red  led o the router it's always on, the green led on the lan cable it's turn on, the orange led on the lan cable it's off

when i reboot the router it's turn on the red led and after 1 second the orange led turn on and turn of after 0,5 seconds
