Flashed a new firmware, then cannot log in 192.168.1.1 with default admin/password

I flashed a lastest firmware, AC1450-V1.0.0.36_10.0.17.chk

AC1450 router turns on with solid green light, but cannot access 192.168.1.1 to change router setting.

Once I change my ethernet adapter -> property -> internet protocol -> use the following IP addresses ->

  1. IP address => 192.168.1.10
  2. Subnet mask => 255.255.255.0
  3. Default Gateway => 192.168.1.1

I can connect to 192.168.1.1 then login message pops up. But default admin/password do not working.

Even factory reset or hard reset, the default admin/password do not working. I can't log in 192.168.1.1

Once I open file explorer -> network, I can see my computer, Genie Media Servers, AC1450 Network Infrastructure.

Seems like AC1450 is not bricked, but cannot log in 192.168.1.1

What can I do now?

I tried the tftp method.  Turn off 10 sec -> press+hold reset button until the power LED turn to flashing orange light. But it never turns to FLASHING orange led light.

Solid orange LED comes and dissappear and comes back with soild orange LED and dissappear. Never Flashing orange LED.

That is the power LED?

Changed where? And why?

Why are you messing around with TFTP if the power LED is as expected?

It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

  • Turn off and unplug modem.
  • Turn off router and computers.
  • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
  • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it connect.
  • Turn on computers and rest of network.

What is the modem or whatever in front of this router?

Just another user.

"That is the power LED?"

- Yes it is power LED. Power LED is solid green Light

"Changed where? And why?"

"Why are you messing around with TFTP if the power LED is as expected?"

- I flashed and installed DD-WRT custom firmware into my AC1450 router.

I performed factory reset in the 192.168.1.1 page and then flashed the lastest Netgear Firmware(AC1450-V1.0.0.36_10.0.17)

Seems like the router booting OK; a solid green light turns on and I can see a solid blue wifi light on the router. I didn't connect anything like modem, so no internet connection yet with my AC1450.

I tried to access 192.168.1.1 page to change my rounter setting; Microsoft Edge cannot bring me to 192.168.1.1. Error message "Hmmm... can't reach this page Try this....." comes up.

Once I change my ethernet adapter -> property -> internet protocol -> use following IP addresses ->

IP dress => 192.168.1.10 or 192.168.1.X

subnet mask => 255.255.255.0

default gateway => 192.168.1.1

I can reach 192.168.1.1 page and login windows pops up.

- HERE IS THE MAIN PROBLEM -

I tried to enter admin/password, admin/pass, admin/admin, password/password, root/root, root/password. But couldn't log in successfully.

I performed 30/30/30 reset method almost once every day. Also didn't work.

Not even sure my router flashed stock firmware successfully or not.

But I can see two SSID using my cellphone! NETGEAR  and NETGEAR_5G comes up!

I can connect to those SSIDs, but again, cannot access 192.168.1.1 page.

Even using Netgear Genie PC application, router settings -> router login -> click "OK", I cannot log in. I see red message on top of the Netgear Genie that says "NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported...... and no IPV6 is enabled."

I just need to access 192.168.1.1 to change router setting. But I can't after flashed from DDWRT to Stock firmware.
