I just plugged everything in and Im not getting any wireless signal to show up on my laptop or my phone when I search for signals. I can get a signal on my ipad2 but it will not allow me to join/connect. any help would be appreciaed

Did you read the quick set up guide? I seem to recall that that my 3700v1 router did not have the wireless networks turned on, out of the box. You needed to first connect via an Etherent cable.
