Keyword/Domain Blocking Problem

Using a WNDR3700V4, latest firmware.

The Keyword/Domain blocking is sporadic. If a device/browser has previously visited and logged onto a blocked site (such as plus.google.com), blocking doesn't work. If there is no history of logging on the site is blocked.

Thanks,

Mike

Make sure you are not accessing an HTTPS website as it will not work since it will only block HTTP sites.

Re: Keyword/Domain Blocking Problem

LPC is probably the best solution.
As said, you need time for the DNS values stored in the computer to clear themselves out.

HTTPS is "Secure" so the router cant view the packet data for that and block it. It can block the initial DNS request (as those are sent in plain text).

Sadly the 3700 doesn't allow IP range blocking, and that's what you probably need here.
