My WNDR3400v3 loses up to 65 percent of signal strength
My WNDR3400v3 with the latest firmware loses from 60 to 65 per cent of my cable signal, I have wired directly to the modem and get 60 dpms
using my router I get from 18 to 24, and sometimes lower. I am running 2 windows laptops, an iphone and an ipad{never all at the same time},
and the output is not good. Is this common for this router, and is there a fix or do I just need to get a better router?

Re: My WNDR3400v3 loses up to 65 percent of signal strength
You haven't told us how your router is configured, especially the wireless settings. Have you tried changing Wi-Fi channels? Is Internet Access QoS enabled? Is WMM enabled? Are you using WPA2 security?
Do you have anything that could disrupt the Wi-Fi signal? Cordless phones, baby monitors, thick walls?
