N600 Model: WNDR3700 short wifi range problem
Hi,
I just replaced my old N300 Model WNR2000 v3 with a new N600 WNDR3700 V4. The N600 wifi range is much much shorter than the N300 on 2.4ghz. I have updated the firmware and even reset it but without much help. The N300 can cover every corner of the house but not the N600 and both were placed in the same location as well. Before returning it, I want to know if there is anything I can do to improve its wifi range. Thank you.

Welcome to the community, @myquest
Have you tried changing channel on the WNDR3700?
Check the NETGEAR Genie to find the best channel to select.
Avoid devices that may cause interference.
If the same thing happens, then most likely it could be a hardware problem.

Re: N600 Model: WNDR3700 short wifi range problem
I have tried to change channel on the WNDR3700 and used Netgear WiFi Analytifcs apps to find the best channel. There is no device near it except a cordless phone (8 feet away). What do you mean by hardware could be the problem? Does it mean that it is defected. Thanks!

Re: N600 Model: WNDR3700 short wifi range problem
@myquest It is working great, however, it's a shorter range. If that short range is ok with you then keep it.
Based from the troubleshooting steps, you've done all the procedures that should have corrected the signal problem.
Just in additional reference to it, you may want to see this article too.
