N600 Router cutting moden speed in from 220mbps to 40-50
Hello,
I have a Motorola Arris Modem for my Time Warner Cable internet. My service is for 200mbps, and when i am directly connected from the modem to my PC via Ethernet cable (Cable>>>Modem>>>PC) i recieve 225mbps. I wanted to add a wireless router for my laptop, so I got the Netgear N600 WNDR3400v3 Router (Firmware is up to date) and when i connect my PC via Ethernet cables (Cable>>>Modem>>>Router>>>PC) it cuts my speed down from 225 to 40-50mbps. My wireless speed sucks i think i get maybe 20mbps but thats not even really a concern for me. What i care for more is why it drops so low via hardline when i add my router into the picture, and how i can fix this to get the speed i am paying for. Hopefully someone knows what the issue is and how i can fix this. Please let me know, thank you.
