What is "the Pro link option"? Something other than basic IP
networking over Ethernet?

Why?

You might be describing how a network switch works, but I'm not sure.
Who decides which data are needed where? If data are not needed at
some location, then why send them there?
In the old days, with hubs (that is, before switches), every message
which arrived at any port was retransmitted at every other port. No one
missed anything. Reliable, but wasteful.
With a network switch, only broadcast messages are always
retransmitted at every other port. Non-broadcast messages are
retransmitted at every other port until the switch determines which
devices are at which ports. From then on, it retransmits a
non-broadcast message to only the port where the destination device has
been detected, thus avoiding the pointless retransmissions to devices
who are not interested.
Generally speaking, it just works.
Perhaps you could explain your concern in more concrete terms?
> [...] would the Gs308 be suitable to accomplish this? [...]
Not sure what "this" is. A GS308, like any (functioning) network
switch should get all messages to their intended destinations. Without
any help from its users.

Re: Netgear GS308
Pioneer ProLink does make use of Ethernet - the DJ hardware units LAN port is spec'ed to 100Base-TX, so Fast Ethernet is sufficient. As Gigabit switches/ports are affordable, and ProLink compatible software operating e.g. computers is typically used on Gigabit equipment it's the way to go today.
Be aware we talk of network LAN switches (hubs are history for decades) - it's not some port replication or duplication thing, it's really an Ethernet switch.
The GS308 should be fine for this purpose.
