What software application are you referring too?
Is this regarding a NG product? Of so, please give model# information as well.

Re: Netgear software version 1.0.0.39
Hello,
The software application is Netgear Genie version 1.0.0.39
I am using a WiFi USB adaptor AC1200 (AC6210) serial 5521875G03DC6
The PC that has the software installed has a Win10 64Bit operating system.

The genie fails to start or the driver for the USB device?
Did you try uninstalling the driver/program and then just reinstalling the standalone driver for it?

Re: Netgear software version 1.0.0.39
Hello,
I have resolved the issue. Thank you
I concluded that the NG Genie software application doesn't need to be running on the Win10 O.S.
Using the PC Device Manager, I verified that the WiFi USB Adaptor was being seen correctly in Network Adaptors. Yes, it was.
Desktop "Open Network" icon was selected to see if the WiFi adaptor was showing. It was listed, so I selected "Connect".
Google Chrome was opened, I searched for "Test" which diverted to my company guest account. I entered guest account details
which allowed internet access.
I concluded that the NG Genie software does not need to be running for the Win10 O.S.
When I have used this same WiFi USB Adaptor for Win7 or WinXP you need to have the NG Genie software running.
