Netgear wnr1000v3 issues...

I just upgraded the firmware to v2>v3 not long ago and now the signal or connection keeps dropping every hour or so and then it dissconects me and won't be able to re-connect back unless to power off the router nd on, it happens
Than if I go wired it works perfectly but wireless it's terrible everywhere.

I did that twice nd no luck pressing the little button for 30s and yeah... It seems the routers rubbish And Btw I upgraded the firmware thru my iPhone for some reason

there is now such thing as 30sec for reset

see router reset on my sig below for all the correct options for resetting

Isn't a hard reset is when your settings go back to default? Yea I did that twice

It's getting really annoying I followed step 2 it set my router to default but now it's still the same man

if you still have drop issues then I would now look into channel interference issues

survey the surrounding and use any of channel 1,6,11 if you are in US. 13 will be for europe

If chan6 is clear with other wirerless around you then revert the firmware, hard reset and see it helps unless it was same issues before you flashed latest firmware

How do I revert back? I think the old firmware had no problems And it's not that clear it drops signal, it doesn't hold on for long

hey i downloaded the WNR1000v2-V1.1.2.50.img but it wont let me open it, when i try to open it thru the routers web page it gives me this error "Please assign the correct file. The file format is *.chk"

You do NOT open *.img fine or even ANY firmware

Makes sure you are downloading wnr1000V3 ONLY

ok ok, but WNR1000v3 Firmware Version 1.0.2.42 is the firmware im on right now, how am i suppose to go back a firmware

yes i have downloaded all the v3 firmwares even the old ones but when i upload WNR1000v3-V1.0.2.26_51.0.59.chk (before the new one)it just shows a blank with no loading or anything i waited 10 mins and nothing happend

any of these should work and ONLY to use wired to the PC and IE browser.

Not sure what you did but you can't use V2 firmware on a V3 version. What is the original model number V2 or V3? What firmware was it on and what firmware did you try to upgrade too?

I am having the SAME issues, its not funny, every hour for the past 3 weeks I have been having to reset my router and as of last night I literally have to unplug my modem and my router and even after that it takes a while to get back on line. I am about to take this back and go back to Linksys.:mad:

There would seem to be a major problem with the new firmware in some cases - I have also had major issues with the router disconnecting and locking up - however reverting to the previous firmware provides a cure - back to previous version and all is fine again.

Does anyone from Netgear read these forums? The new firmware looks very pretty but for some proportion of the customer base it really doesn't work!:mad:
