Password Reset on AC1600

I am trying to update the firmware on my modems (I have two) and have forgotten my login and password to the modem (C6250/AC1600 WFI Cable Modem Router). I know I have changed the password, but I am not sure about the login name. My other router sent me to a password recall screen, but this router is just kicking me out. How can I do a factory reset on this modem/router?

Forget it. You can't update the firmware on a cable modem. Only the ISP can do that.
If your firmware is outdated, you cannot manually upgrade your cable modem’s or modem router’s firmware. You must contact your Internet service provider (ISP) to upgrade your firmware.

How did you propose to do that on a DOCSIS cable modem+router? Is
there some actual problem which you are trying to solve?

Same model, or some other (unspecified) device?

Same as on any other Netgear router? What did your Web search find
for terms like, say:
netgear router password reset
???
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for
"Factory" or "reset"?
First, you might want to look for "firmware".

Re: Password Reset on AC1600
Maybe I wasn't clear. I wanted to see if I could update my firmware (i know how to do this). I was unable to log into the router and could not remember my password. I was hoping you could help me recover my password or reset the modem. I have figured out how to reset the modem and everything is ok. Thanks.

Yup. Still true.

What is your "the router"?

What is your "the modem"?

What is your "my firmware"? Is it related in some way to your
"the router" or your "the modem"?
Perhaps you know what you're doing, but evidence is sparse.
