Port forwarding on wndr3700 not working

I have an OmniPro II home security system that requires me to log in by opening a port, port 4369. the IP address of the system is 192.168.2.160.

I use a program, PC Access, to log into the system. I can successfully log in when i'm at home on my network, logging directly to the 192.168.2.160 IP address. When i try to log in to the IP address of the router, however, with the port forwarding setup, it will not work.

I've setup the port forwarding to be:

Start Port 4369
End Port 4369
IP address: 192.168.2.160

I dont see a way to enable it or disable it so i assume if its in the list, its enabled. the radio button appears to be just for editing or deleting the service.

Any ideas what is wrong?

WAN/internet port of the 3700 MUST have public IP (ISP released ) or it will not work

Re: Port forwarding on wndr3700 not working

I'm on the forum to get help, wish my fiends were network gurus. they are not.
The router works as does the modem, in so much as it provides the LAN IP addresses and my wireless works.

i dont see anything on your posts about how to set it up so the IP is released. is that a setting on the router? i have a specific router, the WNDR3700.

Re: Port forwarding on wndr3700 not working

right or wrong setup will give you internet connectivity. read all the steps , and if you don't come up with questions then you did not read all or just don't understand.

Re: Port forwarding on wndr3700 not working

I have read your router setup.
My modem is not wireless, it does not act like a router.
my IP is public, it is a cable modem (so i dont have to worry much as you note)
Of course my computer is connected to my switch, connected to the router, which is in turn connected to the modem.
I can log onto my router so i'm connected propertly as you mentioned.

I would challenge you: ask me a question about my setup that will help diagnose a problem. dont just point me to the same info.

my router status, per maintenance is:
