Printer Not Appearing in USB Control Center

Router: Orbi RBR50

Firmware: 2.7.2.104

Printer: HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP

Antivirus: McAfee LiveSafe

 

The printer WAS showing up in the USB Control Center at one point, maybe about a year ago.  Since then a bunch of updates were installed, in various applications and Windows, I am sure.

 

ReadySHARE is enabled via Netgear Genie app. 

 

Printer driver is installed on laptop and works when connected to laptop via printer cable. 

 

I tried turning off McAfee firewall but that didn't help things.

 

I am lost here.  Any ideas?

       Why not connect the printer to the router using an Ethernet cable,
    and forget all about USB (and Netgear USB software)?
