Problem connecting with Modem

Hi everyone!

My netgear r6300 has been working fine for about 6 months before it inexplicably decides to take a holiday. The modem now does not recognize that it is connected with the router, but the same cable connected directly from the modem to the computer works. When I power cycle the router, the internet led never lights up (even though the cable is connected and the power button was orange, indicating a testing stage). Could this be a hardware problem? Appreciate any input!

Does the link comes up on modem or router on either for the LAN connection?

If so try using PC's mac address you have directly connected under router's basic setting .
