R6020 (AC750) Router slow speed with cable.

Hello,

I just bought a new router after the old one broke down, now the new router is working fine, except my download speed is cut in half by using a basic RJ45 cable. With WLAN its half faster, i tried to look for something in the router settings, but couldnt just find anything I could change to make it work faster. I have a 110/10 connection, and using wifi I get around 90mbps and with cable just under 40. Also my upload speed is cut in half with the cable (around 5mbps).

Is there a thing to do?

The R6020 isn't a gigabit router. its a 10/100mbps (fast) router.

There's overhead with all protocols. ethernet has less overhead than wifi so you should expect to see at least 90ish mbps out of ethernet. You could try resetting the router and redoing the setup to try and get those speeds.

If its a new router, I'd actually recommend returning it and getting a gigabit router so you can fully utilize your speeds.

AC1600 is a speed.

But hopefully this one allows you to fully utilize your connection!

Good luck

Works very well. Ping 2 m/s, download 102 mbps, thx for the tips. From 30€ router to 100€, theres a difference.
