R6120 External Access via public IP address

Im trying to set up access some network devices externally on the Netgear R6120.  Ive done this kind of set up a couple times before with no issues and different routers.  So ive set up the port forwarding fine but when i google my public IP address it is different to what the router internet port ip address says

Google Public IP:                        103.55.46.227   (FAKE not actual IP)

Router Internet Port IP Address:100.99.20.149   (FAKE not actual IP)

Why are these different? What is the internet port ip address for?

So i attempted to access using both addresses but neither worked, couldn't ping either of them.  But if im connected to the router network and use the Internet Port IP address i can navigate to my device. Ive tried googling this issue but i cant find anything that seems relevant and must be missing the key words of my problem.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

That's likely your problem, but without the actual (not "FAKE")
address for the WAN/Internet IP address of the router, it's tough to be
sure.  Is it a private address?  Plug it into the form at
"https://whois.arin.net/".

   Try "Carrier-grade NAT"?

From where, the outside world?  You need to talk to the router
(WAN/Internet interface), but, if it has a non-routed address, then you
can't reach it (from the outside world) at that address.  And the ISP's
CGN router knows nothing about your desire for port forwarding.

Ask your ISP if you can get a public address?

Thanks for the info, Carrier Grade NAT looks like what the issue is and matches up with the problem. Thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated 🙂
