Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
Is IPv6 working well with the beta firmware? Any other issues of the beta firmware? Is it possible to restore the original non-beta firmware to the router? How? Any ETA on regular firmware resolving IPv6 issue?
Thank you in advance for your support and answers.

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
Hi @gali61,
As it stands, the beta firmware only specifically adds the IPv6 feature for the R6220 and given it's beta status, it is still under observation. You may manually flash the regular non-beta firmware. There is also no ETA on the release of the current beta firmware as a stable firmware.

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
I did notice some slowdowns specificially with web browsing but also intermittent lag while watching streams, speedtests showed I was getting full speed but for some reason it felt like I wasn't receiving high enough bandwidth. Re-flashed 1.1.0.34 and everything is well. I appreciate the trial of the firmware, though. Adding input for further research.

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
Hi-
I too would like this beta firmware.
Perhaps, since this has been in development for two months now, Netgear could make a public beta or otherwise freely accessible link to download it? I'm sorry but I fail to understand the logic behind:
a) this issue existing in the first place;
b) beta-testing IPv6 for this long;
c) not making this beta-firmware openly available via a download link on the support site.
I would have hoped Netgear would have been able to get IPv6 right by now. This isn't something that requires vast amounts of hardware testing across diverse platforms, it's a software/protocol thing. Either it works or it doesn't, and I find it hard to believe that it takes two months to determine if you got it right or not. Notwithstanding the whole 'advertised with a feature that isn't implemented yet' thing...I agree with an earlier poster, this is bordering on criminal behavior.
Please, post the link or otherwise disseminate the firmware. Lots of us are eagerly awaiting this, and already have a very bad taste in our mouths from the experience. Help save Netgear's reputation 🙂
Thank you!

Hi @BlaidddDrwgSJ,
I have sent you a message. Please check your inbox.
Also, the reason why the beta firmware is not yet made public is for us to properly track the cases and users who are currently testing it. We do apologize for the delay but engineering is finalizing the stable firmware for public release.

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
Today I installed Mint 18 beta on 2 machines. The wired connection on both ceased functioning. They were functioning fine with Ubuntu 16.04 and Mint 17.3. Spent quite a bit of time slamming head against desk. Finally I found the cause. The default wired connection with Mint 18 is IPV6. Those machines can no longer connect to my network.
We need the IPV6 support which was in the sales literature as "already exists"

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
I've installed the 1.1.0.34_1.0.1 beta firmware and *still* have no IPv6 support or menu option. Please see attached image.
I've rebooted the router. I've rebooted the modem. I'm on Comcast, the biggest deployer of IPv6 thus far. I've had IPv6 addresses before from them, so I know IPv6 is in fact available.
While we wait for engineering to figure out how to fix this, I'll be going back to my old router and shelving this.

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
I have recommended this router to a client, and bought one myself, and from the product description, I believed that it handled IPv6. Now I find that it doesn't. I am very unhappy, that for years I have used Netgear products, and advised my clients to purchase specific Netgear equipment. And now like Microsoft, Netgear too, will piss off it's long time consumers. When will this be fixed?

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
All I got was a link asking for contact info.
How does that solve the blaring issue, of a router that says it supports IPv6; and clearly doesn't?
I am seeking a tangable solution here.

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
If a beta screws my router's performance, I'm out $108. So I will refuse to sign off on any agreement that limits negligence of NETGEAR to $1. Instead I should hear about how Netgear is going to fix my router. It was advertised as an IPv6 router, and it is NOT. I loved Netgear Products until now. As an independent Tech, when my clients use Netgear products, I didn't get many calls due to poor routers. However; the experience I have had with this R6220, I am very upset. If I could see comments of others that applied the beta version, I might consider applying it myself. I have too much resting on my comms, to use a blindly use a beta. I was considering trying the beta, but agreeing to limit damages to $1, was a deal breaker. So, the big question: When can I expect an Authorized firmware upgrade to correct, that which is in reality, a case of fraudulent labeling on Netgear's product description? Thanks for your effort, I look forward to hearing from you concerning the Authorized firmware that will allow the router to act as it was described, with IPv6.
Thank You, . . . Chris Koczka

Re: R6220 - Does NOT support IPv6
After the I applied the beta patch, I got ipv6 working on Ethernet and 5G wifi, but still have issues with my computers that connect with Wireless N.
They just do IPv4.
